Shifa Medical Centre started as a two-room outpatient clinic in 2016. The ambition has not changed since: close a family's medical problem in their own town, at a price they were told in advance.

2016
Two rooms above a pharmacy
Dr. Aliyar Rahman returns from the Gulf and opens a general medicine OP with one nurse and a borrowed ECG machine.
2018
The lab, and the first specialists
In-house sample collection begins. Paediatrics and gynaecology join the weekly rota; the immunisation register starts.
2020
Through the pandemic
Fever clinic separated from the main OP, teleconsultation set up in three weeks, home medicine delivery begins — and never stops.
2022
The current building
The present premises at 7/228-B, Chelatt Arcade Building, Ponmundam PO, Vailathur, Tirur. Six consulting chambers, high-frequency 500 mA digital X-Ray suite, fully automated diagnostic laboratory, and in-house pharmacy.
2024
Records go digital
Every patient file keyed to a phone number. Reports and reminders move to WhatsApp; follow-up compliance jumps sharply.
